How to mine Aeternity

Aeternity is a platform that enables the creation of decentralized applications. Presented as an alternative to the well-known Ethereum platform, it features improved scalability and security and makes access to smart contracts more economical.

Currently, AE is mined via Prog Proof of Work under the Cuckaroo algorithm.

Feel free to check out the official website and block explorer to get more familiar with Aeternity before continuing. You can also find a summary of Aeternity metrics and other resources on our Aeternity page.

    1. Obtain suitable hardware

✅ Aeternity can be efficiently mined with GPUs.

❌ Aeternity cannot be efficiently mined with CPU and ASIC miners.

View our Miners page to discover the most profitable GPU cards for Aeternity.

And don’t forget to check our Mining Hardware Tools page to download the necessary software for setting up your device.

    2. Obtain a wallet address

You’ll need to get a wallet address if you don’t have one already. An Aeternity wallet address is required for you to receive and monitor your mining revenue.

f2pool distributes mining revenues on a daily basis to every user who reaches the payout threshold, which is 5 AE. Details about our payout method and fees can be found here.

We recommend Cobo Wallet. You can also choose an exchange, such as Binance or OKex. Note: You should always do your own due diligence when choosing a wallet provider or exchange.
