How to mine Zel

The Zel (ZEL) project uses zero-knowledge proofs to enable private transactions and offers a platform for the development of cross-chain decentralized applications. Zel’s mining algorithm is ZelHash, an ASIC-resistant, Equihash-based algorithm that supports GPU mining.

Feel free to check out the official website and block explorer to get more familiar with Zel before continuing. You can also find a summary of Zel metrics and other resources on our Zel page.

    1. Obtain suitable hardware

✅ Zel can be efficiently mined with GPU and FPGA devices.

❌ Zel cannot be efficiently mined with ASIC or CPU devices.

View our Miners page to discover the most profitable devices for Zel mining.

And don’t forget to check our Mining Hardware Tools page to download the necessary software for setting up your device.

    2. Obtain a wallet address

A Zel wallet address is required to receive and monitor your mining revenue.

Mining revenue is distributed daily to every user who reaches the payout threshold of 50 ZEL. Details about our payout method and fees can be found here.

You’ll need to get a wallet address if you don’t have one already. We recommend the official wallet. You can also choose an exchange, such as Binance or OKEx. Note: You should always do your own due diligence when choosing a wallet provider or exchange.

    3. Obtain mining software

GMiner for NVIDIA and lolMiner for AMD are popular options for mining Zel.

    4. Configure mining software

After you have downloaded your chosen mining software, uncompress it, find the start.bat or start.cmd file, right click on it, and click Edit.

Replace the file’s existing commands with the commands from the chart below that correspond to your chosen mining software.

    Software Commands
GMiner for NVIDIA miner –algo 125_4 –server –port 3800 –user wallet_address.worker_name –pass c=ZEL
lolMiner for AMD lolMiner.exe –coin ZEL –pool –port 3800 –user wallet_address.worker_name

Replace wallet_address with your Zel wallet address.

Finally, save the start file and exit. Double-click the start file when you’re ready to start mining.

    5. Start mining today!

Your machines are now ready to mine!

As long as you’re submitting your hashrate successfully, you will receive payouts from f2pool.

To view your real-time Zel payout records, visit the f2pool website and click the 🔍 icon in the top-right corner, select ZEL, enter your wallet address, and click Go.

If you’re using the f2pool app, click the 👁 icon at the top-right corner of the main page and enter your Zel address.
