How to mine Zilliqa

Zilliqa is a blockchain that enables and scales decentralized apps, from financial services to NFT marketplaces. It uses Proof of Work mining for Sybil resistance and Practical Byzantine Fault Tolerance for consensus, and is commonly dual-mined with ETC.

f2pool’s Zilliqa pool is currently dual-mined with Ethereum Classic. Due to the nature of Zilliqa’s mining mechanism, you may mine 1 minute of ZIL every 1 to 2 hours, and use your hashrate for ETC mining for the rest of the time.

Zilliqa supports GPUs and ASICs. Some available ASICs including ForestMiner, iPollo, and so on, while Jasminer, YAMI are currently not available.

To get more familiar with Zilliqa, feel free to check out the official website and block explorer. You can also find a summary of Zilliqa metrics and other resources on our Zilliqa page.

    1. Obtain suitable hardware

✅ Zilliqa can be efficiently mined with GPUs (memory no less than 6 GB).

✅ Zilliqa can be efficiently mined with ASICs.

❌ Zilliqa cannot be efficiently mined with CPUs.

View our Miners page to discover the most profitable devices for Ethereum Classic mining.

    2. Obtain a wallet address

You will need to get a wallet address if you do not have one already. A Zilliqa wallet address is required for you to receive your mining rewards. f2pool distributes mining revenues on a daily basis to every user who reaches the payout threshold, which is 30 ZIL.

You may select a wallet on this page, or you could also choose an exchange, such as Binance or Kucoin. Note: You should always do your own due diligence when choosing a wallet provider or exchange.

    3. Sign up for an f2pool account

You will need to create an f2pool account before mining Zilliqa. If you do not have one yet, please click here to register.

Set an account name. This will be required for configuration. You are free to create multiple subaccounts to monitor your mining machines.

    4. Configure mining software

    Mine with GPUs

GMiner and NBMiner are popular options for mining Zilliqa if you choose to mine with GPUs.

After you have downloaded your chosen mining software, uncompress it, find the start.bat or start.cmd file, right click on it, and click Edit.

Replace the file’s existing commands with the commands from the chart below that correspond to your chosen mining software.

    Software Commands
    GMiner miner.exe --algo etchash --server etc-zil.f2pool.com:6200 --user account_name.worker_name --cache_dag 1
    NBMiner nbminer -a etchash -o stratum+tcp://etc-zil.f2pool.com:6200 -u account_name.worker_name --enable-dag-cache

Replace account_name with your f2pool account or subaccount name.

Finally, save the start file and exit. Double-click the start file when you’re ready to start mining.

    Mine with ASICs

You will need to enter the following information on the settings page of your ASIC mining machine:

    Pool /URL: etc-zil.f2pool.com:6200

    User/Worker: account_name.worker_name

    Password: Your choice

    Please note

worker_name is optional, but we recommend connecting each mining device with a separate worker_name for efficient monitoring.

    5. Start mining!

Your machines are now ready to mine! You can manage your account settings and monitor your hashrate, revenue, and payouts in your dashboard or in our f2pool app.
